Sierra Madre Mountain Conservancy

The Sierra Madre Mountain Conservancy (SMMC) is a local, non-profit, public benefit corporation dedicated to the protection and preservation of the natural beauty and integrity of the foothills along Sierra Madre’s northern boundary.  Incorporated in 1989, we are the first local conservancy to organize in the San Gabriel Valley.

For many years, Sierra Madre residents have enjoyed and benefited from the chaparral-covered foothills that provide natural habitat for wildlife, a beautiful viewscape, a near-pristine watershed, and protection from destructive flooding and erosion.  The SMMC is dedicated to ensure that this land is protected for all to enjoy into the future.
